The Weimaraner is a hunting dog that can work in the field, water and forest. It has a strong hunting instinct and an excellent sense of smell that help it find and point out game. It can hunt birds, rabbits, foxes, boars and even large animals.
The Weimaraner is also a loyal and affectionate companion that bonds closely with its owner.
The Weimaraner is well suited to life as a family dog, if its physical and mental needs are met. It is cheerful, attached to the household and friendly towards people. It does not like loneliness and needs close contact with the caregiver. It usually gets along well with children, although it can be careless because of its size :).
With other dogs and cats, it can live in harmony, if it is properly socialized.
